Camp Health Officer Training 
Saturday, May 15th at either 2pm. 
 
 

Saturday, May 15th at 2pm, Rio Grande Council Enterprise Risk Management Committee will be hosting a Camp Health Officer training.

The goal of this is to establish a Rio Grande Council Health Corps which will serve as a pool for trained Camp Health Officers for all council functions, particularly those held at Camp Perry and Laguna Station. Volunteers will also need to have CPR with AED training, which will be offered at later date.

Anyone 18yo and above (preferably 21+yo) are eligible to attend.

Who you may work with as the Camp Health Officer 

  • Council Enterprise Risk Management Committee 
  • Council Health Supervisor 
  • Camp Director or Event Coordinator/Chairperson 
  • Camp or Event Staff  
  • Volunteers


CHO's role throughout the camp will be to:

  • Focus must be on the prevention of injuries and the promotion of health and safety. 
  • Meet the immediate medical needs of those in camp
  • Maintain health logs
  • Maintain appropriate records of care
  • Assist with filling out incident reports (if any)
  • Perform medical screenings following the procedures outlined in NCAP standard HS-504.


This meeting should last anywhere between 1-hour to 1.5 hours based on number in attendance.  Zoom registration is required.  Please see button below.
